Apalický syndrom u dětí je na našem oddělení často diskutovaným problémem. V dlouhodobé péči máme dvě děti s apalickým syndromem (AS). Jedno je u nás již třetím rokem a druhé od začátku listopadu 2000. O dalšího malého pacienta se střídavě staráme s dětským oddělením ve Šternberku. V průběhu roku jsou k nám přijímány děti s AS k nejrůznějším výkonům (úprava gastrostomie (GST), tracheostomické kanyly (TSK), ortopedická operace atd.) nebo došlo-li u nich ke zhoršení zdravotního stavu či komplikacím a bohužel i noví pacienti - nejčastěji po traumatech a dopravních nehodách.
