Vyšetření a sledování dětí s hypercholesterolémií

Aterosklerotické změny na cévách začínají v dětství a jejich závažnost pozitivně a signifikantně koreluje s rizikovými faktory aterosklerózy. Jsou to jednak faktory neovlivnitelné, jako je věk, mužské pohlaví a genetická zátěž - riziková rodina, z které dítě pochází. Především úmrtí mladých příbuzných (hranice se snížila pod 55 let) na komplikace aterosklerózy ukazují na velké riziko pro dítě. Ovlivnitelné rizikové faktory jsou zvýšený celkový cholesterol, triglyceridy, LDL cholesterol, snížený HDL cholesterol, dále pak obezita, hypertenze, kouření, nedostatek pohybu, diabetes mellitus a mnoho dalších. V dlouhodobých studiích je prokázaný tzv. „tracking“ – posun všech těchto výše uvedených rizikových faktorů do dospělosti, proto prioritním cílem pediatrů je zabránit tomu, aby se rizikové faktory vůbec vyvinuly...
