doc. MUDr. Zuzana Urbanová CSc
Klinika dětského a dorostového lékařství 1. LF UK a VFN, Praha

The rapidly increasing prevalence of obesity among children is one of the most challenging dilemmas facing pediatricians today. The prevalence of extreme obesity is increasing also in population of Czech children. The curability of obesity in childhood is very poor, approximately 10–30 %, so prevention of overweight in children should be the first line of management. This article is an overview of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of obesity in children.

Keywords: Key words: obesity, children, incidence, diagnosis, prevention.
