This article deals with differential diagnostics of cervical lymphadenites in children. These inflammations can be divided into groups
by etiology, localization of nodes and time course. There are individual types of inflammations that occur most frequently, their clinical
symptoms, diagnostics and therapy. Furthermore the tumours of neck that should be taken into account while making differential diagnosis
are referred to. The position of a paediatrician is unique as he usually knows his patients from their birth. Therefore he can assess
well dynamics of the process and in cooperation with other specialists (an ENT specialist, a haematologist, a paediatric oncologist) can
achieve a timely diagnostics and therapy.
