Pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum periods are very sensitive for mother and child. Mother and her baby are very closelyinterconnected during these periods, and one cannot be cared for without the other. At these times, it is advisable todevelop a positive emotional bond between the mother and her baby. A positive emotional bond helps a woman to bemore in harmony with her maternity roles and better accept the changes maternity brings to her life. For the child itself,a positive emotional bond with mother brings feelings of love and affection, thus shaping his future emotional life. Thisarticle presents a specific range of MIRF Scale that can be used in a community environment to assess the emotional bondbetween the mother and her child after childbirth, as well as practical advice on how to develop a positive emotional bondbetween mother and baby.
