Novorozenecký screening je od ledna rozšířen o další onemocnění

Součástí novorozeneckého screeningu je od 1. 1. 2022 dobrovolné vyšetření na spinální svalovou atrofii (SMA) a těžké kombinované imunodeficience (SCID) (1). Doposud se vyšetřovalo osmnáct vzácných onemocnění (Tab. 1). Díky novorozeneckému screeningu je možné zjistit onemocnění dříve, než se projeví, a předejít tak nevratnému poškození. Včasná léčba dokáže uchránit zdraví, ale i snížit náklady na pozdější terapii (2). Rodiče mohou nechat své děti vyšetřit bezplatně ve všech krajích ČR.
