Gastroezofageální reflux (GER) je zpětný návrat obsahu žaludečního do jícnu. Jde v podstatě o jev fyziologický. Patologickým se stává, dojde-li k postižení sliznice jícnu, ve smyslu refluxní esofagitidy (RE) a nebo i mimo jícen, nejčastěji v respiračním traktu. GER představuje nejčastější formu dysmotility jícnu, na podkladě snížení tonu dolního jícnového svěrače (DJS).
