Foreign bodies ingestion is a common and serious problem in children, which can present with a wide variety of symptoms. Coins are the most common foreign bodies, which make up to 80% of all removed foreign bodies from the esophagus. We present the case of a two-year-old child in which the ingestion of the coin was presented primarily with respiratory symptoms, but inaccurate management led to a delayed diagnosis.

Keywords: coin ingestion, upper esophagus, radiographic evaluation, children.
